We're excited to meet you!

Since 1968, Burke has been dedicated to progressive education. We believe that students learn better when actively involved in research and solving problems. Hands-on projects, lively debates, and regular field work allow students to experience their learning rather than always listening to lectures. We maintain high academic standards while giving students the tools to succeed. We teach students how to think, not what to think, and provide them with a safe, inclusive environment in which to stretch themselves and try new things.

In our commitment to producing good citizens, we invest as much in programming for artsservice, and leadership training as we do in history, math, and foreign language. Our athletics program is open to everyone: from those new to a sport, to varsity players ready to lead a team.

We are proud of the way we match students with great colleges and universities. Our graduates are ready for the rigors of college life because they have taken responsibility for their education here at Burke. They are thoughtful leaders with excellent critical thinking skills and a commitment to social justice and civic responsibility.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing more about our terrific school. Please email or call if you have any questions.

Best,
Kai, Liz, Shala & James
