Welcome to Edmund Burke School. Since 1968, this has been the place for independent, perceptive, and creative students – looking to explore and contribute to their communities. We're excited to welcome you into that tradition and, better yet, experience your unique contributions.
This page will serve as your main reference point between now and early. summer. Once we "roll over" to the new school year in July (2026-27), both students and parents will receive individual login information for the Student Information System ("SIS") – and that will become your main resource.
Events: Below is a list of events that new families are welcome and encouraged to attend. Some are just for fun, others are more logistical. We'll send out more information to help you plan!

Summer Assignments
Placement In late spring, new 9th graders will take a math placement test at Burke, which will help determine both math and science placement. Students who wish to start French or Spanish at Level 2 or above will also be able to take a language placement test.
Course Requests
New 6th-8th graders complete world language course and visual & performing arts elective requests via an online form.
9th graders will complete course requests at Burke with an advisor immediately following the on-campus placement tests.
New 10th-11th graders will work individually with a high school administrator to ensure their schedule aligns with graduation requirements and previous courswork.
Summer Assignments As a general pattern:
6th-12th graders have English assignments
8th-12th graders have History assignments
High schoolers entering an Advanced class, AP class, or the Chemistry class will have assignments
Summer books can be picked up at "What to Expect" (a new families event in June) or from the front desk throughout the summer!
Beginning at Burke
Throughout the spring, you will receive Beginning at Burke, the new families' newsletter. Once those start going out, we'll also post past issues to this page.
In mid-July, look for an automated email with the subject line "Connect to Edmund Burke School."Click "Accept Invitation," and it will walk you through the initial login procedure. We'll also let you know when these notices go out.
Note: each parent and student has a unique login, and parent and student accounts are different. We advise against using any account expect your own! Let us know if you have any trouble:
This is a password-free page that serves as a quick, on-the-go reference for Parents. We suggest adding the page as a shortcut on your phone's home screen too!
School forms (e.g.: emergency contacts, health paperwork) are completed through our Student Information System ("SIS"). We open that system to new families in July, after the current school year officially concludes. We've posted the medical forms below so you can get started early.
We work with LunchLink (Wholesome Food Services), which enables you to order lunch on all, some, or no days during the upcoming week. Create an account so you can receive menus and reminders: https://hubs.ly/Q02dc-xK0.
YES! You can add the Burke calendar to your personal calendar. Once you have access to SIS, simply navigate to the calendar, click that RSS button in the upper right-hand corner, and select "School Calendars."
All students receive an @burkeschool.org email address. If you are a new middle school student, you will receive that information during Orientation – no need to do anything further now!
If you are a new high school student, we will email the login information to your parents in July. Please make sure it's working for you before Orientation.
Our Student Information System (SIS) uses a single sign on with Google. Students do not have a seperate password for SIS. To login to SIS with your Burke email:
Assignments will be posted after June 1, 2026. Courses and grades will refer to the course that a student will be taking (or the grade they will be entering) in Fall 2026.
While most assignments are due on the first day of classes, be sure to double-check the instructions for any specifics.
