Visual Arts

Burke's halls and walls vividly illustrate the depth of our arts coursework and independent opportunities. We encourage students to engage in visual arts through whatever media spark their interest - at the potter's wheel, behind the camera, in front of an easel.

We have a modern, light-filled studio, professional kiln, and state-of-the-art darkroom, as well as dedicated space for seniors who are developing portfolios. Our Metro-accessible location in Northwest DC offers easy access to museums, galleries, and working artists.

Each year we partner with Via Umbria Gallery in Georgetown for an exhibition of our students’ artwork in a professional setting. Students donate their work and proceeds benefit the Children’s National Medical Center’s Art Therapy program.
