"Nanomaterials, natural and human made, are characterized by size, measured in nanometers. A nanometer is one millionth of a millimeter - about 100,000 times smaller than the diameter of a single hair." - National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences
Bob K. (HS Science) recently heard from River Carson '17, who was the second author of a paper on nanomaterials, published in the journal Science in January 2025. River wrote to Bob, "Thanks for your help getting here; I'm relying on your teachings regularly."
River earned a bachelor's of engineering from University of Wisconsin - Madison and is now earning a PhD in materials science at Cornell University.
