On November 11, Sophia H. '25 and Carson A. '26 attended the Baltimore Student Diversity Leadership Conference (BSDLC), "You Won’t Break My Soul: Speaking Truth to Power," at the Sandy Spring Friends School. Sophia and Carson joined about 160 students and 35 faculty and staff from over 26 different schools from DC, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. They engaged in community-building, learning ,and empowerment and experienced poetry performed by DewMore Baltimore.
The following week, Noa F. '27, Angela W. '27, Adrien P. '25, and Owen F. '24 attended the Georgetown Day School Summit on Sexual Assault & Consent, along with Kamilah (Equity, Inclusion & Civic Engagement) and Sean (6th Grade Dean). Themed on "Building Unity, Uplifting Autonomy," the conference included a unity walk, stories from survivors, and workshops led by 35 guest speakers from all over the country. These students left with a deeper understanding of consent, how to hold yourself and others accountable, and how to support survivors.
