March Bengal Beat: Part 1

High School Track & Field launched their season with a strong showing at the St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School Early Bird on March 15, facing off against nearly a dozen independent schools from DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
Top placements among the Burke track and field squad included:

  • Grant L. C. '24: 13th in the 100 meters
  • Nebeyo Z. '23 and Logan C. '25: 5th and 9th in the 200 meters
  • Reese G. '23: 7th in the 400 meters
  • Adam O. '23: 12th in the 1600 meters
  • Amanuel A. '24: 2nd in the 110 and 4th in the 300 meter hurdles
  • Sophia H. '25: 2nd in the Shot Put
  • Edomias G. '23: 5th in the Long Jump
  • Edomias, Amanuel, Ethan O. '26, and Nebeyo: 6th in the 4x100
  • David G. '25, Edomias, Logan, and Nebeyo: 3rd in the 4x400, running 3:53.28, in a race where the top three all broke 4 minutes
