Year-End: Middle School Community Days

What do the final weeks and days of the school year at Burke look like? Here's a glimpse.
On Monday of the final week, June 6, 6th graders took a tour of Ward 2, starting at the National Mall and National Gallery of Art in the morning and making their way to the historic Ben's Chili Bowl on U Street. On Tuesday, June 7, they spent all day at the Udvar-Hazy Center, the National Air and Space Museum's annex in Fairfax, VA.

7th graders headed up to Baltimore, spending hours at the National Aquarium before having lunch at the Waterfront (and securing some treats at Lucky's Baltimore). Tuesday was dedicated to class activities on the 4th floor, followed by some bowling in Georgetown. 8th graders were busily preparing for their Moving Up Ceremony on Tuesday evening, although they did take a morning excursion to the Prince George's Swimming Pool on Monday.

On Wednesday, the final day of the school year, 6th & 7th graders came together for a day up in the trees at  Sandy Spring Adventure Park. While the 8th grade technically had "moved up" to High School already, quite a few elected to join in as well.
