Bengal Beat: Spring Begins

On March 30, Coach Bobo reported that the team had "a great return to action at Falls Road this afternoon. Our six Bengal golfers competed in their groups under windy but beautiful weather. Our top four combined 9-hole scores (45, 46, 44, 50) gave us a score of 185 and the 1st place finish over McLean School (209) and Field School." Burke's top finisher was Jack L. '27 (44), followed closely by Alex S. '26 (45) and Zach S. '26 (46). 

HS Track & Field
On Friday, April 3, the Bengals competed in the Kayley Milor Twilight Meet in Urbana, taking on programs several times our size. For the girls' team, Elsa H. '27 sped to 1st place in the 400 meters by nearly three seconds, running 1:02.73, paired with 7th place in the 200. Ellie D. '29 was close behind, taking 4th in the 400, and Frankie N. '27 took 7th in the 1600 meters. For the boys' team, Gideon R. '26 ran the 800/1600 meter double and took 4th in both. Carter A. '27 ran sub-56 to take 6th place in the 400 meters, paired with a 3rd place finish in the triple jump. Ethan F. '26 recorded a pair of 10th place finishes in the shot put and discus, and Mateo C. '27 came in 7th in the long jump.
