Burke Perseveres at Tough Georgetown Classic

Michelle
On Saturday 15 October Burke XC competed close to home at the Georgetown Prep Classic.  Tommy, Zack, Jake and Molly all had strong races against a huge field of runners.  Congrats to everyone who raced and persevered against the hills, wind and tough conditions Saturday!
On Saturday 15 October Burke Cross Country traveled just outside the beltway to Georgetown Prep to run along side literally thousands of area public and private high school runners at the Georgetown Prep Classic Cross Country meet. The meet featured radio personality Johnny “Cakes” Auville of the Sports Junkies and racers began and finished to music pounding through a staged broadcast system.  Several runners competed well despite the incredibly tough racing conditions. Tommy & Zack both ran times close to their PR’s while Molly earned a medal for her top 15 finish.  Both Lizzie and Jake recovered from early race “flat-tires” and showed great perseverance (Jake earning a medal in the JV race!). Congrats to everyone who battled the wind, hills & elbows of the day to finish their races!
