Tabletop Greatness

 reports that 9th grade Ancient World classes recently created tabletop games about Alexander the Great's campaigns in the 4th century BCE: "Interweaving 9th grade studentship skills with game design, as well as incorporating historical facts, students made these games from scratch and then tested each other's games in the Atrium."
Extra, Extra, Read All About It
Burke's student-run and written newspaper, The Cageliner, has launched for the year. Be sure to grab a copy from the Atrium or 4th floor newsstand. Helmed by Executive Editor Maya D. '26 and Deputy Editor Lillie E. '26The Cageliner releases a monthly print edition with writers and artists from all grades. The October 2025 issue even includes two high school (Henry M. '29, Gideon R. '26) and two middle school writers (Ione A. '32, Zach H. '31) on the front page!

An Historical Lens
Last Thursday, October 30, Curtis' former American University student Paul T. Klein spoke to the 11th & 12th grade History of the DMV course about analyzing cinema and documentaries as rich historical and cultural texts. Paul is now at the University of Michigan, earning his PhD from the Department of Film, Television, and Media.
