Art on the Spot

From land art in Middle School to costume design in High School.
Middle School
Seizing upon some unseasonably warm weather, Deborah Z.'s 3-D Explorations class headed to the side yard to create land art. 6th graders drew upon Andy Goldsworthy's "site-specific installations involving natural materials and the passage of time."

High School
Following units on acting, directing, and dramaturgy in Brent S.'s Drama class, students are exploring the disciplines of theatrical design, including set, costumes, lighting, and sound. Last week, students crafted costumes for characters in their final projects using just some basic provided materials, including painter's tape and tinfoil.
