Class Spotlight - May 2025

Au Sujet de la Belle Époque

Maureen's Advanced Art History class welcomed Juliet Bellow P'25, professor of Art History at American University, who discussed her book Rodin's Dancers: Art & Performance in Belle Époque Paris (Yale University Press, 2025). Interested in the intersection of sculpture and dance? Professor Bellow will be in conversation with Mary Morton from the National Gallery at Politics & Prose on June 12.

Science on the Wing

Up in the Middle School Lab, 7th graders in Amy's Life Science class completed a chicken wing dissection to complement their study of muscles, joints, and bones. They focused on how the bird's biceps and triceps work and identified tendons and ligaments.

(Not) Getting Their Feet Wet

In Environmental Science, students have been exploring inside and out: by filming the rock cycle with assorted crafty props in MPR and by venturing down to Rock Creek despite the heavy rains, with the help of some hip waders.
