At the conference, the Burke cohort networked with other students from around the United States and built knowledge, developed strategies, and honed leadership skills to make a positive impact in their community. Old School Sounds
In US Music Since 1945 with Curtis, 11th and 12th graders analyze music history from myriad perspectives, including technology, society, culture, business, and performance. To build their aural understanding, they recently took a field trip up Connecticut Avenue to Art Sound Language (a record and bookstore). Students dug through the collection, plus learned how to use two turntables to fade music in and out from store owner PJ.
