Reporting from the Labs In the Chemistry Lab, 9th and 10th graders are studying precipitation reactions, observing the formation of insoluble ionic compounds from soluble reactants. Last week, they tested 24 different combinations of aqueous solutions to see whether a precipitate formed and then wrote the corresponding ionic equations. Next door in the Physics Lab, seniors have been exploring complex circuits, in which some parts are in series and in parallel, and analyzing with loop and junction rules.
Citizenship and Seniors In their final Health, Values & Ethics (HVE) class at Burke, seniors earn what have become known as "adulting points" for mastering practical skills and engaging with their community – these can range from changing a tire on a car to opening a checking account. Making an excellent case for points this past week was Elena W. '26, who sent Stacy a photo of her first time voting in Alexandria! She even got applause at the polls upon casting her first-ever vote.
