7th graders in Life Science recently combined their study of anatomy and physiology with an exploration of First Aid and CPR. To practice those skills in a real world context, they headed up the street to DCFD Station 31 and met with the firefighters. As a bonus, they came back with some stylish helmets!
Colorful Chemistry In the lab, the 10th grade Conceptual Chemistry class experimented with paper chromatography, which separates "chemicals based on their different properties (solubility, size, mass, etc.) and thus, allows scientists to distinguish various organic and inorganic materials." Alexis was intrigued and decided to try her hand at it too!
Seeing the Spheres 9th grade Environmental Science crafted museum-style, visual teaching tools to represent the main interconnected spheres of the earth (atmosphere, biosphere, geosphere, and hydrosphere), which were on display for Art Show visitors to peruse.
