As part of their civic engagement framework (Sustainable Pathways), the 7th grade spent two days at Camp Wabanna, along Maryland's tidal South River, in April.
Braving unseasonably chilly temperatures and an early start, they weeded garden beds, maintained local trails, enjoyed the giant swing, and crafted presentations on sustainable solutions – which they could then bring back to Burke.
