  • Gifts of Cash

A gift of cash is the most common form of charitable gift. Click here to make a gift using your credit card (VISA or MasterCard). You can make a pledge of monthly installments, due in full by June 30, the end of our fiscal year. If you would prefer to download a gift/pledge form to fill out at home, please click here. Please make checks payable to Edmund Burke School.
  • Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)

Contributions made through the CFC should be designated to Burke’s CFC #40720. If you designate Edmund Burke through the CFC, please let us know in the Development Office. While CFC is not permitted to disclose gift amounts, the School would like to properly acknowledge and recognize all gifts.
  • Appreciated Securities

If the stock is held in a brokerage or bank trust account, instruct your stock broker/banker to have the gift of stock transferred to the School’s account. Please contact Burke’s Development Office or have your brokerage firm call to obtain transfer instructions. Your tax deduction is the mean price of the stock on the date of its transfer to the School’s account.

If the stock is in the form of a stock certificate registered in your name, please contact Burke’s Development Office for transfer instructions.
  • Planned Gifts and Bequests

Burke welcomes planned gifts and encourages donors to include the School in their estate planning. Deferred giving through trusts, annuities, insurance policies, and bequests may offer significant tax benefits, provide a portion of income rights for the life of the donor and/or other beneficiary, and reduce estate settlement costs, while fulfilling your philanthropic goals.  If you would like to explore planned giving opportunities, or if you have included Burke in you estate plans, please contact Burke's Development Director at 202-375-7636.

Please be sure to also consult with an attorney or financial advisor to explore what type of planned gift might be best for you and your family.
  • Gifts-in-Kind

In-kind gifts provide an opportunity to donate needed goods and services which can be tax deductible. Examples include printing and graphics services, cameras, computers, musical instruments, and carpentry.
  • Matching Gifts

Many companies match the philanthropic contributions of their employees. The donor is asked to obtain a form from the company’s Personnel Office and send the School the form along with their gift. Burke’s Development Office then submits the form to the company’s matching gift department, and a check is sent directly to Burke. All matching gifts are counted towards a donor’s membership in one of the Annual Fund giving circles. To find out if your company provides matching gifts to secondary educational institutions, contact your Human Resources Office or ask Burke’s Development Office to research your company's matching gift policy.
