New to Burke in 2021: Kristin

We are excited to announce that Kristin Arndt will be the Assistant Head of School for Program in 2021-22.

Throughout her 20+ years in education, Kristin has been committed to developing progressive schools that facilitate deep student understanding of the world around them. For the last eight years, she was Head of the Middle & Upper School at Barrie School in Silver Spring, MD. Prior to her time at Barrie, Kristin helped found two New York City public middle and high schools, served as Assistant Principal of the Urban Assembly School of Music and Art in Brooklyn, taught at the American School of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and began her career at Boston's Fenway High School.

Kristin received her BA from Vassar College and Ed.M from Harvard's School of Education. She lives with her partner, Clayton, their two children, Ruby and Alan, and her devoted dachshund, George. Kristin reads a lot, likes to try new recipes, and dabbles in mosaic-making. She looks forward to contributing to Burke's legacy of offering students a joyful educational experience, committed to the principles of social justice.
