News from Arts & Sciences

News from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and American Mathematics Competition, thanks to Isabel M. (Visual Art) and Jenn C. (Mathematics).
Our cheers and congratulations to Rachel Z. '22, who received an Honorable Mention from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, for her painting, "Fire in the Heart, Nothing in the Head."

Cheers go out as well to the dozen Burke students in grades 9-12 who competed in the national American Mathematics Competition (AMC) this month. A challenging 75-minute exam with 25 questions, the AMC is designed to challenge students and strengthen creative problem-solving skills – and for the first time, the friendly competition took place online.
