Faculty Feature: From the Gallery

This fall, galleries in Maryland and Virginia featured paintings and digital photography from Burke's faculty.
In September, Isabel M.'s (Visual Arts) exhibit, "They See Us," opened at the Stone Tower Gallery at Glen Echo Park in Maryland. An explorational portrait series created during the time of COVID, the exhibit honors her daughters and "their own individual personalities in this ever-growing, unstable world." At the socially-distanced opening, Sean F. (6th Grade Core) read from his poetry collection, "Did You Even Know I Was Here?"

In October, Marie-B D.'s (World Languages) "Moment Exceptionnel" appeared in the Frederick Gallery's juried exhibit "Memories: People, Places, Structures" at the Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts in Virginia. The striking digital photograph also was chosen to represent the exhibit.
