In the Open Air: Media and Science

While students may be in a digital space for much of the day, faculty have woven time away from screens – and in the open air – into their curriculum.
In Deborah Z.'s Mixed Media course, 10th graders drew inspiration from British sculptor and environmentalist Andy Goldsworthy and created land art around their homes. Pictured: Cat R. '23 (orange) and Ellen C. '23 (pink).

In Amy C.'s Life Science class, 7th graders planted heirloom pansy seeds on Friday – which should germinate in 10-14 days. Students then will use these plants to practice keeping a field journal and honing their observation skills.
