Greeting Our Grandparents & Grandfriends
This Veterans Day, Burke welcomed more than 150 guests to our annual, intergenerational celebration. Following a reception in the Commons, our grandparents enjoyed a welcome program in the Theater – including a "day in the life" for each Burke middle school grade, presentations from our affinity group leaders, and singing with the HS Vocal Ensemble.
Next, grandparents attended 2nd period class with their grandchildren. Maureen M.'s US History class took advantage of the moment, with 11th graders delving into oral history by interviewing their grandparents. Everyone headed to Assembly in the Gym, highlighted by Advanced Band and dancing. Next up for our Burke grandparents? Save the date for this winter's "fireside chat," held online on February 19, 2026.
