Amanda Taylor

Joined the Board in 2023. Amanda (she/hers) is passionate about supporting schools and educators in their work towards inclusion and justice. She is currently a faculty member and the Assistant Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at American University (AU), where she leads the implementation of the university’s plan for inclusive excellence. She began her career as a K-12 teacher in urban, rural, and international schools, and she enjoys volunteering with local nonprofits and schools that work for inclusion in independent and public school contexts. She currently also serves on the advisory board of CONNECTdmv, as well as a member of the Thomas Jefferson Middle School equity team. In her free time, she's a proud mom of two teen boys, a bad poet, and an aging hip-hop dancer.
